Description

A day of trekking between land and water along one of the most beautiful river paths in the area, the SentierElsa: a corridor between the Sienese Chianti and San Gimignano, so rich in vegetation that it feels closer to a rainforest than to an Italian river. A driver picks you up and takes you towards Colle di Val d'Elsa, a characteristic Renaissance town. The route begins at the foot of the beautiful Diborrato waterfall and runs parallel to the Elsa River for about 4 km. The river has its source at the foot of the Montagnola Senese, but its real secret is the contribution of the crystal-clear spring waters of Le Vene and the thermal waters of Le Caldane. On request, and when river conditions allow, the walk can continue on the water with a raft: together with the crew, you move like a small band of explorers, working as a team through the limestone pools of the Elsa, waist-deep in its clear waters. Because the activity depends on the water level and the availability of the guide, rafting is confirmed only after these checks and is arranged as an optional part of the day.
