Description

Montalcino produces one of the most collected red wines in Italy, and this private day tour visits two of its wineries, with a driver at your disposal throughout. Brunello di Montalcino is made from a single grape and requires years of ageing before it can be released; Rosso di Montalcino comes from the same vineyards with a shorter ageing period, and is the wine local families tend to open. Tasting them side by side is the clearest way to understand the difference, and both are included. Between the two wineries, there is time to walk the streets of Montalcino and go inside its well-preserved fortress, with the option of visiting the Tempio del Brunello, a museum complex dedicated to the history of the wine. A light lunch at one of the wineries can replace the second tasting if you prefer. The tour lasts 6 to 8 hours, with pick-up from your hotel or chosen location.
